Avatar Agent Studio · Guided flow

Bring your own

You already have the face — or the body. Two doors on this estate take what is yours and make it a living Alive agent: a photo becomes a sealed, portable avatar package; a .vrm model becomes a 3D body in your browser’s own library. Both doors run in your browser on the $0 path — this page walks each one to a wearing, talking result and tells you plainly where each road ends today.

Door one · $0

I have a photo

One portrait becomes an animated hybrid face — your real photo, alive on top. Fit it, style it, seal it into a portable .alive.json package that wears on any page you own and can list in the open marketplace.

Door two · $0

I have a .vrm model

Any humanoid VRM you own becomes her 3D body on the live stage — loaded entirely in your browser, kept in your browser’s model library, pointable from the config panel. The bytes never leave your machine.

Walk the VRM route ↓

Not sure? A photo gives you a 2D face that talks anywhere — the fastest path to a sealed, shareable avatar. A VRM gives you a full 3D body on the stage — the deepest presence, kept private to this browser.

The photo route

$0 lane photo → sealed package

Five steps, one lab. Your photo stays in this browser’s IndexedDB on this whole path — the $0 lane never uploads it anywhere.

  1. Upload your photo Face Overlay Lab crew pass

Open the Face Overlay Lab and press ⬆ Upload as-is — the $0 door. JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 12MB; any shape — the fit tool auto-frames the head. One plain truth: the lab’s front door is a crew door today — an Edit Bay username/password stands before the buttons. Once inside, the $0 lane is exactly that: free, and your photo still never leaves this browser.

Two other doors sit beside it, and this flow uses neither: Take a photo shoots one right there, and Mute upload billed digitally clears the photo’s own features first.

  2. Fit it the fit tool opens by itself

Drag and zoom until the face sits in the frame, then press Use this photo. The lab lands a 1250px square in this browser only (IndexedDB) — on the $0 lane nothing has left your machine.

  3. Make it yours, then save same page

The animated Alive overlay — eyes, brows, mouth — rides your real photo; tune styles, colors and pieces until it feels like you. Give it a name and press Save avatar: the complete look goes on your browser shelf, restorable with one click.

  4. Seal it My Avatars card

Press ⬇ Export avatar. You get a portable .alive.json — a sealed alive-package-1 with your photo embedded and a sha-256 integrity seal. It is self-contained: any stage that speaks the package law can verify it and wear it, and Import avatar restores it in any browser.

  5. Wear it — then let it talk bench · your site · marketplace

On your own page it is two lines: the alive element script plus <netshow-alive src="….alive.json"> — the element only wears same-origin packages: your file, your site, your rules. To list it in the open marketplace, use the lab’s Save your Alive Agent Avatar card — the Save & Publish lane ($0 to list, price 0–9999). To wire a live brain, Connect YOUR AI — your model, your keys, our face.

To watch a package like yours living first, the Test Bench’s Hybrid seat open · $0 wears sealed studio-shelf packages and drives the five body states, so the mouth talks when the agent talks.

The VRM route

$0 lane .vrm → browser library

Five steps, one stage. Your model is parsed entirely in your browser and never sent anywhere; the stage’s own built-in bodies are a separate, demo-pass-gated rack. Step 3 is optional and only matters if you want her to wear the live face.

  1. Drop your model the 3D stage

Open the VRM stage and drop any humanoid .vrm file anywhere on the page — or click the drop zone to browse. If the file carries a real VRM rig, she loads and wears it right there; if not, the stage says so honestly and keeps its current body. Respect the model’s own license — the stage shows its license metadata after load.

  2. It joins YOUR library automatic, verified

A good load is saved to your browser’s model library and read back to verify the save really landed before the stage will trust it. It lists under “yours (this browser only)” for one-click reloads on your next visit. DELETE removes it from the library; eject clears the stage for this session — your library copy stays, and she returns on your next visit unless you DELETE her. The bytes never leave the browser.

One check runs before a model joins your library, and it looks at exactly one thing: whether the file claims to carry our live 2D face. A model that makes no such claim — nearly every model — joins your library untouched. A model that claims it and does not carry it is not saved; she still loads on the stage so you can look at her, and we name every part that did not check out and what to change about it. We never refuse ambition — we refuse a claim the file does not back. This is not the demo pass: your own uploads still load, list and reload with that gate closed.

  3. Qualify it for the live face optional · in-browser only for live-face bodies

Most bodies stop at step 2 — they load, they list, they wear, and nothing here applies to them. But a body built to carry our live 2D face on a 3D head has to satisfy one extra contract (nsv-face-plate/1): a face plate mounted on the skull that our painter owns. Drop your .vrm on the qualify page and it runs the same check the intake runs, right here in your browser — nothing uploaded, header and JSON only. You get one of three answers: pass, fail with every reason named, or not claimed, which is what a normal body gets and is not a failure.

  4. Point the panel at it config panel demo pass

In the config panel, Her body (VRM model) lists your library under the same “yours (this browser only)” heading. Pick yours and apply — the choice takes effect on the stage’s next load. The panel can point, never upload: models enter only by dropping them on the stage, in the browser that holds them. One plain truth: the panel room itself opens with the demo pass (Edit Bay — ask for it) — your model does not need the pass to load, list or wear on the stage; the pass opens this pointing room, not your files.

  5. Let her talk stage · TALK demo pass

TALK — LIVE VOICE on the stage gives your model a live voice. Live voice — and the stage’s built-in bodies — sit behind that same demo pass. Your own uploads never wait on that gate: they load, list and reload with the gate closed. The pass guards the voice, the bodies we license and the config-panel pointing room — never your own files.

Where this road ends today

An uploaded VRM becomes a library model in this browser — today it does not become a sealed .alive.json package. The estate can already wear a live-vrm package, and the door that seals one from your upload is built and verified — but not yet open on this site. Until it lands, your model travels the honest way: keep the .vrm file you own and drop it on any browser you want it in. When the seal door opens, this step upgrades in place.

Both doors, same ground rules

This browser only

Photos land in IndexedDB; models land in your browser’s library. Neither door uploads your file on the $0 path — “saved” means saved here, in the browser you are using. A different browser or device starts empty: re-import your exported package, or re-drop your .vrm.

Sealed means checkable

An exported avatar package carries a sha-256 seal over its payload. Every wearing surface on the estate checks before it wears and rejects, whole, any package whose payload no longer matches its declared seal — and your file stays yours: elements only wear packages served from your own site.

What is gated, what is not

The VRM door is ungated. The photo door’s lab sits behind a crew pass today (Edit Bay — ask for it). The demo pass gates live voice, the estate’s licensed built-in bodies and the config panel’s pointing room — never your own files. Billed doors are labeled billed before you press them — this flow never routes through one.

Your license, your responsibility

Bring files you have the right to use. The stage surfaces a VRM’s own license metadata after load; exported photo packages default to personal-use rights. What you list publicly in the marketplace should be yours to share.
